Our practice is dedicated to the prevention of dental disease. We wish to strive for a full partnership involving you, your child and our office staff. About our Staff and Your Office: Our staff is uniquely trained, intensely compassionate, and highly motivated to carry out our stated goals to the complete satisfaction of our parents and patients. Our children and their parents are treated to three waiting areas. The children have a "Theater Room" with a large TV for viewing Children's Movies and children's programing and around the corner is a reading room, providing a brief respite for our parents. The aquarium area sends young and old alike into a trance. For the children in the clinical area we have two Game Cubes and a toy area certain to occupy a great deal of time. Good luck on getting your children to leave the office when your ready to go! Professional Activities: Dr. Tate has practiced Infant and Youth dentistry in Austin for over 25 years and each year brings a new excitement and innovation to his practice. He insures this through many hours of continuing education classes that keep him on the cutting edge. As each innovation in the dental field comes on the horizon, Dr. Tate will be studying their relevance and application to Youth Dentistry. Dr. Tate has served as President of both the Texas Pediatric Dental Association and the Paul P. Taylor Association (Baylor Graduate program of Pedodontics). Dr. Tate has achieved the highest professional honors in his speciality. He is a *Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry* and has been awarded the honor of *Fellow of the American Society of Dentistry for Children*. This latter honor is one shared by few in the State of Texas! Professional Affiliations: - American Dental Association - Texas Dental Association - American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry - Texas Association of Pediatric Dentist - Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentist Dr. Tate's Passions: Dr. Tate's passion IS Youth Dentistry with a special interest in Orthodontics for the growing child. His pediatric speciality gives him a clear understanding of the growth and development in the early and adolescent child and this along with hundreds of hours of post graduate orthodontic classes. He keeps abreast of the current findings and innovations in the orthodontic treatment. We want our youth to be proud of their smiles and to this end we make aesthetic dentistry a priority, this includes: tooth colored sealants (to help prevent fillings), tooth colored fillings and whitening. We also have sport guards (athletic mouthguard) available to insure that your child's smile will remain intact during their leisure and school sporting events! Dr. Tate and his staff also love to see our patients twice a year. We enjoy catching up: "whats's your mom feeding you - you must be a foot taller?" - "Do you like your new teacher this year?" - "You're going where this summer, wow, send us a postcard!" Of course, the most important catching up is the twice yearly exam and fluoride treatments to keep your child "Dentally Sound". Our latest FAVORITE PASSION is our NEW INFANT EXAM! The American Dental Association, The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and Dr. Tate feel we should be seeing your children by the FIRST BIRTHDAY! We want to introduce you and your child the preventive world of Infant and Youth Dentistry. Our staff will answer all your dental questions, we'll tell you about us, and you will tour the office. Dr. Tate will then examine your child while their resting in your lap. Dr. Tate will then give you an over view of your child's needs and his vision for their continuing care so your child may achieve or the goal of OPTIMUM ORAL HEALTH!
